Changes in NROI Ontario

Greetings IPSC members,

In the first few weeks of my tenure as NROI Ontario Coordinator there have been some changes of which I would like to make you aware.  Most immediately noteworthy is the change to the Deputy program outlined in the NROI Ontario Policy & Officials’ Handbook.

After restructuring and redistributing portfolios, I am happy to announce that the resultant 2 Deputy positions will be filled as follows:

Deputy Coordinator – Communications (nroicommunications@ipsc-ont.org)

Franco D’Andrea has taken on this portfolio with responsibilities that include: issuing notices to officials, forum postings on behalf of NROI Ontario, creating ‘Call for Officials’, and announcing upcoming training courses.  Basically, Franco will do his best to keep you updated on NROI Ontario and NROI Canada issues (but no, he doesn’t know when the Quebec Nationals will open for registration)

Deputy Coordinator – Support (nroisupport@ipsc-ont.org)

Matt Elliott will be taking on the responsibilities of this portfolio which include verification of submitted points and acting as a liason with Match Directors to improve the use of existing online worker tracking and move towards further automation of Officials’ points validation.  Additionally, Matt will be assisting with sourcing some of the new and existing gear for officials.

There are other changes I will be announcing over the coming weeks including some training courses, a new shirt and a NROI Ontario website that will feature a large POINTS CLAIM button front and centre, but for now I wanted to introduce these newest Deputies.  If you see them on the range, please take a moment to thank them for giving their time and energy to help our sport.
